My name is John Mark (Johannes Markus). My parents named me after the evangelist John Mark.
Once as a child, fascinated by a crystal and a small cube of pyrite given to me by a neighbour, is where my passion for gems and minerals came to life. Their mystery, beauty and sparkling in the sun used to offer me comfort and joy as a kid. So I started collecting gemstones and minerals and working with them later on in life, like making orgonites. After more than 30 years I’m still (Alice) in wonderland, lost in the world of fossilized water and minerals. Now it’s time to share my breathtaking collection of the most freaky, funny and beautiful art by nature with you. Not only to see by you but meant for you. As a present for a loved one or to reassure the love for yourself.
Next to all kind of gemstones there’s room for gifts and products with a story in my shop. Things you don’t often see in other giftshops. Nothing is too much for John Mark, the more hysterical and crazier it gets, the better. Products that make you think, leaves you in awe, makes you smile, laugh out loud or even blush. Mijn ouders hebben mij de naam Johannes Markus (John Mark) meegegeven. Vernoemd naar de schrijver van het evangelie van Markus.
Ooit gefascineerd geraakt door een kristal en klein stukje pyriet, gekregen van een buurman, raakte ik verdwaald in de wereld van stenen. De mystiek en pracht zijn een onstnapping aan de omgeving en het plezier als kind deed de verzamelaar in mij triggeren. Als iets me pakt en raakt wil ik er meer van weten. Daar is mijn passie geboren en heeft zich geuit in een adembenemende collectie van de gekste en ook mooiste stukken bij elkaar. Nu is de tijd aangebroken mijn collectie met jou en de wereld te delen in mijn giftshop in Soest en online.
Naast edelstenen is er in mijn winkel ook ruimte voor andere producten. Producten met een mooi, grappig of interessant verhaal die je niet zomaar overal vindt. Mijn producten zijn stuk voor stuk verwennerijen, indulgements. Verwennerijen voor jezelf of een ander. Niet veel gaat mij te ver, als je al blozend en lachend mijn winkel uitloopt ben ik een gelukkig man.
